Verifying a domain

GoloLink checks your DNS automatically - you don't need to keep the page open.

Once you've added your TXT and routing records, there's nothing else to do. While Settings → Domains is open, GoloLink re-checks your domain every 15 seconds (then every minute after 10 minutes) and tells you the moment it's live. You can also click Verify domain to check right away.

Closed the tab? GoloLink keeps checking in the background for 3 days and emails you when your domain is live.

After DNS checks out, GoloLink issues an SSL certificate ("Issuing SSL"), which usually takes a few minutes. When the domain is live, your existing short links start working on it immediately, and your first domain becomes your default domain.

If DNS hasn't propagated yet, give it time - see How long DNS changes take. If it keeps failing, see DNS verification failed.

Once a domain is live it stays live: if a later check finds its DNS has changed, GoloLink warns you ("DNS no longer points here") instead of switching it off.
